Recently i watched this film "war machine" 2026 in Netflix. I felt like watching a very old Hollywood army movies In new graphic.
This is not a movie review just how i felt watching this movie.

Wasted first few minutes.
The story is very simple hero is a army soldier, he has a brother and they wanted to join a ranger program in the us army but unfortunately brother dies in a attack and hero was not able to save him despite that he wanted to join the ranger program.

He and a group of soldiers undergoing the final stage of their Ranger training in a remote forest. Their mission appears simple: survive the harsh environment and prove they are ready for real combat.
However, the situation quickly turns deadly when the trainees encounter a highly advanced robotic war machine stalking them in the forest. What starts as training becomes a real battlefield. One by one, the soldiers realize they are being hunted by a machine that is stronger, faster, and smarter than anything they expected.

The squad must rely on teamwork, strategy, and pure survival instinct to defeat an enemy that seems almost unstoppable.
After all the BLAH BLAH BLAH
Rest of the story is very simple and predictable.
Hero and the team fights, looses, team mates dies, one injured and alive, hero runs, machine chases, team mate dead, hero runs, machine chases, team mate dead, hero runs machine chases. Only one injured teammate left, hero runs fights the alien machine alone [ alien vs Predator] wins the fight returns to the base. Hero this hero that, the woow movement.
The End...
What works...and what dont...
Nahaaaa...... Nothing much to say about what worked for me in this movie
I can say that Alan Ritchson acting was good, colour grading was good, i really liked the Hollywood colour grading feel, i can talk about military realism. In few places the film itself expresses what military is all about [ i dont think its intentional ] it proves that people understands that military is more to be questioned than glorified where soldiers are not considered humans just a robot who taked orders and exicute them without questioning or as a test subject where their lives are not valued and are simply wasted.
This film has extream military realism exept the climax which literally felt like usual cinema back to glorification of military this and military that. With ongoing problems this movie also mentioned that this threat is a work of north Korean. I really felt the amature and lazy writing.
Many scenes resemble classic sci-fi action films where soldiers face a powerful unknown enemy. We have come accross many movies like this in the past from predator to battleship with at least has their own strong story and reason for the the things happening.
Another weakness is the limited character development. I had no connection with any of the character exept heros week back story, no other characters have any. Even the villian did n ot have any back story it simply came, sends signal hunts.
Exept for the thriller that delivers solid entertainment with intense survival moments. While it doesn’t reinvent the genre.
